Bomber from Liquor Barn, Louisville. Always up for a new coffee stout, so this was nice to spot, nearly hidden on a crowded shelf. Found it to be fairly interesting, if in some ways underdeveloped. It’s a heavy beer, a bit too thick and soupy. But there are some nice dry hops even amidst the dark choc sludge and deep roasts. It gives the brew just enough balance and makes it an enjoyable knockoff of, say, Bells Java.

Black with a creamy tan head. Drip coffee aroma and taste with a bitter chocolate taste.

Pours dark brown close to black with a beige head. Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate, alcohol. Flavor is a sweet dark malt with chocolate and coffee nicely balanced with a hint of the alcohol warmth. Very nice coffee imperial stout - is at least 8.5-9% by taste.

Black pour with tan head and lace. Coffee aroma with large chocolate kicker. Sour coffee, and cough syrup, very sweet. Thin and watery. Great aroma just a bit of a let down on the taste.

Thick with lots of coffee. Delicious, roasty, chocolatey, with hints of vanilla. I think this is by far brownings’ best offering

Pours black with a thin wispy tan head. Notes of smoky chocolate, pepper, foamy roast and phenols. Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Didn’t really care for this one. The coffee was a bit astringent and harsh.

Aroma of chocolate, roasted marshmallow and coffee. Appearance is black with dark tan head. Flavor matches the nose, with a touch of boozy nougat. Palate is bubbly. Quite good for the style.

Light coffee aroma. Sweet taste with a little bit of coffee and mineral. Leathery book flavor in the finish, and a tinge of bitterness.
