hopdog (4568), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 19, 2007 22oz bottle shared courtesy of TomDecapolis. Poured a deep amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of toffee, citrus, caramel, woody, and there was something there I just couldn’t figure out. Tastes of tofee, caramel, citrus, and nutty. Medium alcohol finish. Tmoney99 (3545), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jan 20, 2007 Draft at Brownings. Poured orange copper color with an average off-white creamy head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate sweet fruit and alcohol aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium balanced flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind. egajdzis (2970), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 19, 2007 Poured a lightly hazy, red amber color with a small, off white head that left spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of light floral hops, citrus fruits, a bit of metal, light DMS, with caramel, and some alcohol as well. Taste of maple syrup, some caramel, cardboard, toasted dough, with dry grapefruit, and some alcohol in the finish as well. TomDecapolis (2419), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 23, 2007 Thanks to hatchy for sharing this rare one during a brew session. Pours a hazy brownish amber with a smaller creamy off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of dark fruits, malty sweetness, the hickory syrup, Flavor of toast sweet malts, hickory syrup, dark fruits, vanilla, some oxidation and caramel malt. Retorp (2158), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 3, 2007 Courtesy of Kevster. Thanks, Kevin. The aroma is fruity with a strong malt aroma and mild vegetal notes. The body is a muddy brown with nearly no head. Sticky sweet fore is followed by sweetwer candy sugar notes and oxidated caramel. The mouthfeel is pretty thin for a BW, but you get a pretty nice dark fruit flavored blast int he finish which saves this beer from being awful and actually gets me wanting another sip.
