4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 antzman (314) - Clarksville, USA - APR 13, 2007
Draft. Pours a medium copper with a full white head. Excellent lacing. The aroma is a blend of piney, citrusy hops, and some malts. I initially was expecting a pure hop bomb, but that was not was I got. The initial taste is all hops. Very floral and citrusy, but then the malts kicked in to balance the beer out. Damn well put together beer. Based on opinions at a tasting, this should be their next bottled offering.

Pours dark amber with thin head. Smells hoppy. Aroma is chocolate and has a hint of licorice. Aftertaste lingers due to the hoppiness.

From a 22oz bottle obtained in a trade from CarlyRaes. My first Imperial Pale Ale, nice title. The pour was a semi-dark amber color with a nice foam head. I got next to nothing in the aroma department. The taste was pronounced malts but I might be biased based on my recent trend of DIPA’s the last month. I didn’t find much on the finish and was hoping for a little more hop goodness. Didn’t know this was 8.5% and this could definitely creep up on you rather quickly.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark orangewith this white head. Aroma is sweet malts, bread, and a small amount of hops. Palate is a little flat. Taste is a bit bitter and sweet at the same time. Nothing special, but refreshing.

Orange pour with white head and lace. Resiny hops and light caramel. Resiny, perfumey, sweet maltiness, with a medium hard bitter. Medium bodied but just a tad too foamy for me. Best beer of the stop.

On tap at browning’s. Pours deep amber. Aroma of citrus hops, caramel malts, and some spice or something. Flavor has some weird light taste. A decent pale ale.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ryan82SM (747) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - AUG 5, 2010
Aroma of grapefruit hops, caramel and confectionery sugar. Appearance is reddish brown with tan head. Flavor matches the nose. Palate is lively and creamy. I wasn’t blown away, but I do see why this is their most popular beer.
