jstraw (750), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 17, 2008 Bomber at Jerry’s. Hazy amber with big, floatsam head / Interesting vegetal, caramel, hop nose / Medium body, bigger malt and hop balance, residual sweetness, with good, dry finish / Delicate, fresh flavors of burnt sugar, dry hops, weed, and grapefruit / A maltier double, but real good. antzman (313), Clarksville, Indiana, USA Apr 13, 2007 Draft. Pours a medium copper with a full white head. Excellent lacing. The aroma is a blend of piney, citrusy hops, and some malts. I initially was expecting a pure hop bomb, but that was not was I got. The initial taste is all hops. Very floral and citrusy, but then the malts kicked in to balance the beer out. Damn well put together beer. Based on opinions at a tasting, this should be their next bottled offering. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Jul 4, 2007 On tap at Rich O’s Publick House during RBSG Road Trip 2007.Cloudy orange with a white head. Nice spiderweb lacing. Resiny orange nose. Flavor is very orange bitter, lightly spiced and some pine. Excellent stuff! GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Mar 23, 2008 22oz bottle. Poured a clear medium orange color. Head was thick and off white with good retention and lacing. Pleasant aroma of sprucy/grapefruity hops, caramel, and a bit of mango. Dry on the tongue with assertive hop bitterness that peaked at about 7-8 out of 10. Earthy, hop-dominated flavor with the likes of crushed spruce needles and more modest malty caramel and a splash of alcohol. This is a very good IIPA. merlin48 (509), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA Oct 3, 2007 22 oz bottle purchased at The Keg in Clarksville, Indiana. Pours a hazed orange amber body with a small offwhite head. Medium body and carbonation. Pungent aroma of citrusy orange and mango with caramel and pepper notes. Taste is well balanced, with the bitter citrusy hops getting a slight edge over the sweet caramel maltiness. Alcohol is well concealed. Finishes with a peppery bite. Very impressive. Tilley4 (218), Huron, Tennessee, USA Jan 3, 2008 I can’t believe this beer isn’t rated higher than this. I found this beer to be delicious!
Honey orange cloudy pour, small head.
Smells very citrusy and hoppy with a hint of sweet malt.
Really nice hoppy taste to this. I actually found the flavor of this to be quite a bit better than lots of IIPAs that i’ve tried up to this point. Its not over the top hoppiness like Dreadnaught or anything but still a very nice brew. Thanks to Todd at Keg in Clarksville for recommending this one! Excellent brew!! 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Mar 3, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. I do believe as someone else mentioned earlier that this beer is worthy of a higher average rating. Though it looks to the yee and feels to the palate to be a normal IPA, it is packed with the bold and refreshing flavor of bunch of piny hops (though malt is hard to detect behind them). The 8.5 abv. has definitely been hidden better, but it seems to go well with the extreme bitterness. Very enjoyable beer for IIPA fans. Sweet brewpub too! maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 26, 2007 On tap at Rich O’s Publick House during RBSG Road Trip 2007. Hazy copper amber body with a small frothy off-white head. Beautiful citrus hop aroma with some floral hops.Light caramel with a dominant citrus hops flavor and some bitter orange peel in the end.
