COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Certainly one of our favorites, this unfiltered wheat ale is crafted with an abundance of wheat malt, pale malted barley, whole hops and a classic Weihenstephan Weizen ale yeast. Straw-colored, immensely refreshing, hazy and bursting with spicy flavor our wheat beer has delighted our regulars for years and is true to its Bavarian heritage – even though we don’t typically serve it with breakfast like they do in Germany . Malts : Domestic pilsner, white wheat Hops : Mt. Hood

Had at Brown’s Taproom on draft. Pours hazy golden with almost no head. Smells fruity, spicy, with a bit of wheat and yeast. Lots of bubblegum, banana, cloves. The other complexities I expect in a hefe are lost because some of the flavors are lost in the mix.

Certainly one of my least favorites, this wheat ale is a bad attempt to blend wheat malt, pale malted barley, with whole hops. Maple syruped colored, lightly hazy and a peculiar sweet taste.

Bomber. Hazy golden with a small head that nearly flits away entirely. Nose of banana, caramel and clove. Flavor is the same nice blend, with some lemon-orange. Medium body is tingly, watery and refreshing.

Pale yellow pour. White head. The nose is banana-laden. Light wheat malt and a pronounced melon character. Fairly fresh. The flavour is really all banana. A touch of DMS on the back of the palate.

Pours an opaque yellow with a moderate white head. Taste is pretty fruity, some citrus, decent hop presence. Finishes very crisp. Very refreshing and easy to drink - a good little hefeweizen.

Me and some buddies drove up to Troy to find a beer that would go well for our kegger. This was the chosen one. for Medium to full bodied. Very flavorful, lots of banana, clove, and yeast. Orangish hazy color. Packs a bit of a bite too.. which softens out once you get a couple sips in ya

Hazy, rather dark golden pour. Tiny white foam receding to a ring. Heavily phenolic offering, medicinal, band-aid like. A juicy banana puree with a medical cocktail. Husky and dusty graininess. Medium bodied, moderate to high carbonation. Not very complicated. Astringent finish.

Im not a terribly huge fan of hefeweizens but this one was good. Light in color, nice and hoppy. I can taste the wheat. I would ge this one again.

My Bottom Line:
This overly sweet and phenolic Weizen was surely not in prime form this weekend, as vegetable connotations stumbled alongside banana syrup and confused cloves.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-There is no head at all to be found atop the turbid blond; this foam may have been killed by the lemon wedge which was served on the pint glass, within us asking for it might add.
-Carbonation was fizzy, and the body was rather anemic, giving a most forceful mouthfeel.
-The yeasty fruitiness was chaotic, passing from tropical fruit to herbal, unripe examples to perfumy soap, all doused in that sugary banana syrup.
-Oh well, maybe we got the bottom of the keg?

On tap at the brewpub.

On tap at the brewpub. Served with a slice of lemon, the brew pours a straw-yellow with a lively white head that fades. Quite hazy, almost opaque really. Aroma is lemon, some clove notes, but massively banana. Taste is much of the same: nice crispness from the wheat, some spice, but the banana esters here are absolutely overpowering...and in a good way. Lively carbonation, thin on the tongue and drinkable.
