3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 bhensonb (7579) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 5, 2010
Bottle from Half Time. Pours light amber with a slight foamy white head. Aroma of light roast malt. Mayhap a bit of florality. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is bitter. Mostly floral with a touch of citrus. Resin? Not to me. What is good here? It’s bitter. It’s bitter. Nice ale.

Deep amber pour. Fairly light cascade hop character. Assertive bitterness. A bit of light pine and a very chewy hoppy finish. Lots of orange peel. Decent.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 CaptainCougar (6834) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - MAY 12, 2009
Pours a transparent dark copper amber with a stringy-lacing frothy white head. Aroma of lightly sweet caramely malt with a touch of grapefruity hops. Starts with good fullness and carbonation along with a light toasty malty sweetness and some slightly resiny citrus and piny hops before a smooth, bittersweet finish. Could use a little more hop bite, but still a pretty good IPA.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MartinT (6349) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 18, 2007
My Bottom Line:
Whispering hop leafiness expands into earthy and citrusy personalities, leading to a moderately coniferous bitterness. This is surprisingly mellow and not quite balanced for the style.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A film of foam floats atop the glowing orange.
-The nose is not as expressive as it should be for the style.
-Again, the body is rather lean and the carbonation prickly.
-Some fragile honeyed maltiness roams below, apparent only because the hops are not very talkative today.
On tap at the brewpub.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Rastacouere (5920) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 17, 2008
Hazy copper, lacy off-white head. Leafy, hoppy nose, but not very clean. Soapy, orangey hop aromas. Timid crystal malts. Plasticy in the finish. The malts simply are not very convincing. As a result, there’s a fair bit of hoppiness, but it bathes around nothingness.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 Ratman197 (5916) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - DEC 26, 2011
Bottle poured a hazy orange amber with a lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, citrus and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a lightly dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, citrus and a hint of pine with a smooth lightly dry moderatrly bitter finish.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bb (4888) - Alamo, California, USA - JUL 20, 2011
Bottle. Amber beer with a dark cream colored head. Woodsy and floral aroma with citrus and caramel. Grapefruit and light pine flavor with caramel and some woodsiness. Medium bodied. OK bitterness. Grapefruit and caramel lingers with light pine and light floral notes.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2007 In short: Boring uninspired pub IPA
How: Tap at brewpub. Jul 2006 (2.4/5). Re-sampled Dec 2007 (same score)
The look: Partly cloudy orange body with a small off-white head
In long: A little citrus and cat litter on the nose. Minimal maltiness. A little juicy citrusy hops essence. Short finish. Mild bitterness. Lean, almost watery body. As inspired as a slice of white bread and margarine.

On tap at Half Time. Pours a clear gold orange with a medium sized white head. Caramel and citrus on the nose. Sweet. Pretty basic IPA, caramel and a touch malty, a bit of hop flavor going through it, but nothing overwhelming. Somewhat mediocre. Slight grapefruit bitterness on the finish.
