Slepkov (16), Ithaca, Alabama, USA Mar 17, 2008 A hazy amber-mahogany brew with a fine and long-lasting and lacing head. Not as attractive looking as that may sound. In the nose flowers and grapefruit predominate but are not particularly strong. Overall the bouquet is good. Tasting it is a little sharp with soapy character and disappointing balance. Not much malt and the hop profile is rather uninteresting. Some creaminess develops in the finish, but it is predominated by soap. Disappointing.
hophead75 (1768), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Jan 3, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Almost clear orange/amber in color. Citrus and flowers in the aroma- moderate, I personally would like the aroma to be a bit more assertive. Taste is rather mild for an IPA- citrus/grapefruit and floral hop flavor, balanced by pale malts. Dry with a moderately bitter finish. Clean and well done if you like a balanced IPA, I personally like more assertive hop character. DrDavid (669), Johnson, Vermont, USA Nov 20, 2008 (Bottle). Mild citrus hops aroma. Orange amber body, off-white head. Flavor a bit too mild, with some unimpressive bitterness and citrus, also somewhat dusty. OK, but not great. oteyj (391), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA Jul 22, 2008 Pours murky brownish amber with one finger white head. Aroma is highly floral and fruity. Flavor is a little on the acidic side, but there is decent malt presence. Hop character is somewhat lacking for the style- some piney resinous flavors and some grapefruit. Palate is a little watery and leaves a nice bitter aftertaste. A dissapointment in the style, but nice to sip on the porch. Rastacouere (5421), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Feb 17, 2008 Hazy copper, lacy off-white head. Leafy, hoppy nose, but not very clean. Soapy, orangey hop aromas. Timid crystal malts. Plasticy in the finish. The malts simply are not very convincing. As a result, there’s a fair bit of hoppiness, but it bathes around nothingness.
