Bottle from Half Time. Pours black with a 4 finger fizzy/foamy dark tan head. Aroma is sweetish burnt malt with a chocolate lilt. Med body with fizzy carb. Flavor is not all that sweet. Theres a lot of dark malt flavor, with mere hints of chocolate and coffee. There’s a dryish/cereal aspect in the finish. Not bad, just nothing I can previously recall.

Deep rich brown coloured body with an almost fully-opaque glow. Nice thinnish (one centimetre) tan head tops the beer. Aroma of meat, mushrooms, caramel, raisins and a touch of concord grapes - interesting. Full-bodied; Effervescent mouthful with a sweet potent kick of grapes and sugars, not even caramelised, but strong hints of nuts and light malt at the tail end. Aftertaste is relatively mild with only sweetness and a touch of malt at the very end. Overall, not much of a ’typical’ oatmeal stout - more of a sweet stout as the style shows here on RateBeer, but a relatively mild and underwhelming beer, even for this style. Worth trying if you like stouts and want to try something new - it’s not bad at all, just a bit typical for the smallish brewery and actual style of beer (not what the label pretends). I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 04-September-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 14-September-2010.

Pours black with thin head. taste is of oates toffee some maltiness but body is pretty watery. slighty sweet with little finish. certainly not what the commercial description listed above boasts but fine enough effort from a brewery in NY no one knows of

Sampled at SAVOR 2010. Pours a watery, opaque black with some thin, off white head. Nice, sweet, malty aroma, oats, grains. Flavor is sweet, sugar, tasted like under attenuated wort. Finish is water.

Bottle pours a brown body with a tan head. Aroma of caramel, coffee and dough. When drinking I picked up a little smoky/roast smell which battle with the sweet oatmeal taste. Medium body with a nice creamy texture. Good beer but there are better oatmeal stouts.

From mcox90 via trade. Dark brown pour with a one-finger tall head that was almost tan. The aroma was rich chocolate and dry oats. The flavor too was a nice blend of dry oats and chocolate. Medium bodied with just enough carbonation. Really good.

Opaque Brown/Black with a small carbonated head. Smells of sweet coffee, and a little chocolate. Tastes of roasted malts, not very complex. Quite carbonated.

Had it on tap at the brewpub. Poured a deep dark brown with very little head. Taste is very well balanced, chocolate malts, very mild bitterness, caramel sweetness as well. A pretty solid, pretty sweet stout.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown, almost black pour with a one finger beige head which receded slowly leaving a good amount of lace. Aroma is cookie dough with coffee. Beer went down smooth with a moderate bodied easy drinking palate. Flavor was oatmeal bread with a touch of caramel sweetness. Some coffee noted as well. Nice little oatmeal stout.
