This is a solid oatmeal stout with the flavor of an oatmeal cookie with hints of chocolate. Really solid.

Rich aroma with definite roasty chocolate tones. Beautiful crisp black pour with not much head (I did pour it a bit too cold). The Willamette sneaks through ever so slightly. A solid brew.

S: Coffee, Mild Chocolate, Mild Licorice, Mild Dark Roasted Matls
T: Chocolate, Coffee, Mild Oatmeal, Mild Dark Roasted Malts
M: Average Carbonation, Medium to Full Bodied, Mildly Bitter, Mildly Dry
Overall, a really good stout...just lacks in the oatmeal portion. They may put oatmeal in it...but it is hard to tell as it gets overpowered by the chocolate malts.

Pours a black brown color with a tan head that disipates quickly leaving almost no lacing. Flavors a burnt coffee, tobacco, a little licorice and roasted barley with just a hint of the oatmeal. Not a bad beer, but somewhat weak mouth feel for a stout very watery which lets the flavor wash right by.

Dark brown, almost black. Medium khaki head. Notes of burnt barley, chocolate and caramel. Taste of malts and chocolte milk. A touch watery, but smooth. Ok stout.

On Tap at the brewery in Troy, NY. Pours dark brown with long lived off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of caramel malt, dark fruit and cacao. Body is full, creamy and smooth. Caramel malt, vanilla, coffee, brown sugar, dark fruit, sherry and hint of hops combine on the palate. Finish is long and semi-dry. Delicious brew.

Bottle. Pours deep deep brown with a beige head. Light roasted and caramel malts, with a low bitterness. Hints of chocolate sweetness. Pretty good.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2012 A delicious oatmeal stout poured at Brown’s Taproom in Troy, NY. Smells slightly smoky with some roastiness. The smoky flavor is nice and is balanced against the smoothness of the oatmeal. Great chocolate flavors, oat flavors, and hints of coffee and nut. Finishes well.
