12 ounce bottle from oliver’s . Pours black. little head, tan disappears leaves a little brussels lace. Great smokey tastes, nice malty taste. I taste a little carmel. I love this one. Probably ner the finest beer I have ever had, I am lucky to be so close to Browns.

Very dark brown body topped by a medium thick head with good lace left on the glass. Slightly roasty malt aroma with a subtle sweetness. Slighlty sweet and roasty malt flavor with a chocolate/coffee background and finish. Full bodied and smooth.

Part of 24pack purchased from the Brewpub location in Troy. I drank this with the nephew of the owner. Pour is near black. A ton of flavor is present... most notably black coffee and tobacco. Not lacking much of anything..This was excellent. My favorite offering from Brown’s

Pours a velvety liquid as black as espresso; a void from which nothing good could come. Or could it? A mocha head is almost guinness-like, and admirably persistent. The nose is rich if a little sour. Biscuits and coffee with a little off-soured-yeast. In the mouth a welcome tartness yields to ample, but not sweet maltiness, with strong rootbeer overtones. A well balanced mineral finish. Impressively crisp. Browns came back with Mr. Black!

A bit thin for an oaty, but this is some damn tasty beer. With some more body and a bit deeper flavor I could get behind the "world’s best " hype.
