Deep brown/black, minimal head. Chocolate and roasted malt are present here in quantity. There are some burnt notes, a touch of vanilla, and a bit of hops. A solid porter, which is often compared (unfairly) to its big brother, the Whiskey Porter. A worthy pint, for sure.

On draught at the brewpub. Arrived at the table a dark brown with a thin light brown head that lasted through the first two sips and left partial lace. Mild aroma of chocolate and just a bit of roasted malt. Thankfully, more flavorful than the aroma suggests with ample roasted malt and just a hint of chocolate. There is some mild roast bitterness at the finish. Smooth and lightly carbonated, which I enjoyed. Good porter.

A - Served a deep dark black color with some brown hues around the edges. There is a finger of off-white head atop that fades down to a super thin ring leaving behind a bit of lace.
S - Aroma is full of roasted and lightly burnt sweet caramel malt. There is some chocolate and coffee as well in the background.
T - Starts off with brunt sweet caramel malt with lots of roasted flavors mixing in. There is also a bit of chocolate in the background. Through the middle some more burnt flavor comes through with a bit of hop flavor. The finish adds a bit of coffee flavor with a touch of bitterness that lingers nicely.
M - Medium bodied with moderate-low carbonation. Feels smooth and just a touch creamy. There is some nice lingering roasted and burnt flavors that create a touch of dryness.
D - Very drinkable. Tastes really well balanced with a lot of roasted and burnt flavors that are really tasty. Very nice coffee and chocolate flavors mixed in.

Deep brown pour. The nose is a little bit herbal with a nice rich brown malt character through the middle. A touch of light licorice and some softly toasted character as well. Astringent coffeeish flavour on the back. It started out alright, but the finish managed to snuff out that bright light.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep brown with a small, tan head. Taste is pretty sweet for a porter. Very malty taste, chocolatey. Small burnt taste, bit of hops on the finish. Mouthfeel is pretty thin for a porter. Solid beer though.
