Another obscure non-existant beer style heard from. Summerfest is NOT a beer style. The term ’fest’ implies a German lager and the term ’summer’ implies a light seasonal beer. With no real style definition to compare this beer to, all I can say is that it is a drinkable but unremarkable beer.

On tap at the 2008 NABA. Pours a dark and clear amber with a thick orange head. The aroma was mostly bready and some light hops. The taste was pretty similar; a sweet and full malt presence combined with a light hop aspect. Easygoing and pretty smooth drink.

Draft at brewpub: Pours solid bronze with a modest white head. Nose is citrus hops and caramel maltiness. Taste is consistent with a little bit of fruitiness, mild citrus hops, and little malt. Rather light bodied.

Sampled on draught at the brewpub restraunt in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Pours a clear golden orange brew with a thin white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing and a white ring. Aroma of light bready malt, citrus and flowery hops with a touch of sweet pears. Taste is smooth, creamy, lightly carbonated with a peppery malt falvor and texture. Finish is smooth and sweet, with a slight peppery dryness in the aftertaste.

Sampled on tap at the Brewery: Orangeish brown, thin head, nice lacing. Nose of thin malts, eh. Flavor is malty, nutty, eh. Finishes bland, more body and flavor than most summerfest style beers but it’s easily forgettable.
