Scoutman (14), USA Jan 21, 2008 A flavorful brown ale that suffered from lack of carbonation and a much too cold serving temperature. Roasty with the right amount of bitterness. No head, no laciing. virtually flat. IOk at best.
jake65 (1355), Meridian, Idaho, USA Jan 17, 2007 Draft at brewpub: Dark brown pour with a small, foamy tan head that diminished quickly. Nose is light with hops and roasted malts. Taste is a bit watered down up front, but comes through in the end. Tastes of roasted malt, dark fruits, caramel, and some hints of spice. I thought it was served too cold; I’d like to try it again. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA May 2, 2006 Dark brown with a tan, foamy head and some lace. Bitter, odd aroma. I found the nose had some nutmeg in it. I have no clue where Jordan got strawberries. The flavor had more spices in it, perhaps cinnamon and nutmeg. Roasty malts. Heavy but not cloying with a lasting sense of nutmeg. BückDich (4618), Boise, Idaho, USA May 2, 2006 Draught at the Brewpub: Dark ruby black, no head, light lacing. Nose of grassy strawberry and light hops. Sweet roasted malts and a creamy tail. The flavor is nice and chewy. A bit stronger than the others and an odd twank in the end; metallic?
