UPDATED: MAR 27, 2013 Bottle pours an opaque peach-gold with a thick white head. Good retention, nice lacing. Sweet, floral aroma with notes of honey and citrus. Taste is complex and well-developed. Sugar up front, a bit of orange, black pepper, and a thick malty finish with all the characteristic sweetness of Belgian yeast. Very smooth. Delicious take on a Belgian golden ale.

Tap. Pours light yellow with white head. Smells yeast, not too much aroma. Has a very smooth, sweet taste. Slightly citrusy, really smooth and easy to drink. Good.

Bottle 237 out of 400. Lots of trub in the bottle... Opens up to a slow and continuous gusher... Pours a heavily cloudy yellow with a nice creamy white head with good retention and fair lacing. Nose is loaded with honey and phenols. Taste is sweet but not cloying with spicy flavors mixed with some nice honey characteristics. Fruity, overripe yellow plums or something like that. Body is medium+ and carbonation somehow under control despite the never ending gusher. Not bad but not something worth seeking out again.

On tap at the brewpub. Pour is hazy honeycomb with a big white head and great lacing. Fruity esters, doughy, biscuity, lightly spicy, white pepper, white grapes, a touch of pear, green apples and yeast in the aroma. Taste is musty, doughy, lightly citric, white pepper, clove, banana, orange peel, biscuity, and waxy with a lightly spicy finish. Melding body with soft carbonation. Damn tasty Belgian ... I need to pick some bottles up of this stuff.

Bottle 223. Pours a highly turbid, orange yellow with four fingers of fine white head. Bottle is a gusher. Great retention and lots of lacing. Aroma is fruity, sweet, honey, floral. Flavor is fruity, peaches, candy, honey, with a caramel, malty, mildly boozy finish. Alcohol masking is impressive, though not quite as good as i remember. Very fruity and semi-sweet throughout. Soft carbonation, medium body, and very smooth texture. An excellent local brew.

bottle-conditioned 22oz. soft hazed gold with a fine-bubbled lasting head. a first dose of citrus oil, dish soap and perfume is followed by some mildly crystalline sugar aromas and a developing lime / salt / white pepper phenolic quality. effervescent and lively carbonation; peppery and sweet; a lot of banana and gum; strongly bitter but works in good balance with the sweetness and acidity. quite nice, a surprising beer showing promise for this brewer.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2013 Burnished yellow. Towering white head deposits ornate lacework after each sip. Attractive mixture of airy and peppery phenols entices the olfactory. Underlying cotton candy, vanilla cake, custard, flowers, and honey-soaked melon. Suggestive whiff of lemon balm and banana bread. Fluffy carbonation with an crunchy edge. Opens with a well-polished yet equally decadent and palate-lapping honey-steeped richness. Notes of custard and vanilla cake unload considerable depth-lending weight on the tongue, yet do so with striking elegance. Spicy phenolics latch onto the luscious malt and offset the candylike sweetness. Ensuing burst of pineapple, nectarine, and lemon delicately splashes the tongue with a sparkling acidity which displaces some of the sugars without compromising any of the lustrous malt depth. Succulently textured, throughout. Sweep of alcohol cleanses the palate and warms the gullet, but is very clean and nicely spicy. Body is absolutely dripping with honeydew nectar which oozes forth and thoroughly saturates the core yet leaves the flowery hop vibrancy unobscured. Extravagantly multilayered. Styrianesque hop flavors generate more elegance as they burst with a juicy lilac softness and a vague spiciness which echoes the expressive phenols. Finishes exquisitely well-rounded with a lightly caramelized honey grip contrasting with bouncy vanilla-cake malt and a drying peppery phenol flourish. It is truly hard to believe this comes from America, let alone Colorado, the land of beer mediocrity. A quite characterful rendition rather than the usual sugar, yeast, and banana bomb we are so accustomed to. This proves to be a textbook example of adjunct brewing…aside from the thankfully cleanly attenuated honey, not a single additive was detected by my palate, which is to be commended. But you can bet had they been omitted, the difference would be apparent. And that is how to brew with the finessed touch of an artist.
