Koelschtrinker (7039) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 21, 2011
Test vom 22.3.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,8,8,11,6,9 - 8,65

Grima (1572) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - JAN 18, 2011
The beer in glass, looks amber - brown, and a beautiful fine-pored cream stands on top for a long time. Smells very malty, subtly roasty.Starts very malty, with a slight roasted malt note. The aftertaste is slightly bitter, the taste really pulls out a long time. To the center part of the aftertaste it is slightly sweet. Great Bockbier!

Bottle from Grima. Dark amber color. Malty grassy aroma and flavor with hints of butter. Caramelly notes. Thinnish, but OK.

330 ML bottle in Germany from Shrubber85. Pours a muddy brown color with little head. Aroma is a burnt coco, cherry and malty mix. Taste is cherry with malty notes. Palate is simple and easy. A good bock.

Bottle. Cherry, nutmeg, and malt aroma. Dark reddish-brown with small head. Sweet cherry, brown sugar, and malt flavor - moderate alcohol astringency. Nice tasty bock.

Small, brownish tinted crème head over well-carbonated brown beer with orange highlights. Vanilla, milkchocolate, faint gingerbread spices, dark malts. Liquorice flavour, less sweet however, than the nose had suggested. Tastes really like chewing on a stick of liquorice wood, if less sweet. After some time, however, the beer gets pretty bitter, leafy & vegetable, lending it better balance, in the way. Very light MF, even watery for a Bock; spritzy. Bit disappointing, certainly for a Bock. Big thanks to Marcusfromthebeerdesert!

Bottle 33cl. Clear brown colour, small quickly disappearing head. Dark roasted malts in the nose, a little hopnose. Elegant and balanced brew, not a classic but enjoyable.

(33cl bottle, big thanks to Aaron !) Clear, dark amber colour with a fluffy and slowly lacing off-white foamy head. Toast-malty aroma with caramel and a whiff of herbal hops. Moderately, but a bit sugary sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a pleasant carbonation. Toasted malty taste, light notes of caramel and light spicy notes; moderately sweet malty finish with well-balanced alcoholic notes.

Light toasted malt nose, chesnut, big foamy tan head. Caramel notes, woody dry end, gritty mouth feel. Medium body. Pretty good with a nice balance. Fine stuff.

Thanks a lot Saarlander! Gorgeous appearance - nice mahgony color, with a big fluffy head on top. Not much in the nose - a bit malt, some candy sugar. Medium bodied. Malt taste- some warming alcohol with a nice medium hoppy finish. I liked it!
