2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
330ml bottle @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, Feb 16, courtesy of Jeremy. Many thanks. Pours gold with light haze, white head. Sweet malt aroma. Taste is smooth, lightly sweet bready flavours with a faint smokey finish. Some metallic notes. Perhaps better fresh.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
It pours clear and yellow with a minimal white head. It has the aroma of hay, straw, grass and herbs. The taste is very straightforward, medium sweet and medium bitter. Fizzy carbonation. The light body and thin texture make it an easy drink. Underwhelming.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl bottle at home in the early hours of 20th Nov 2015. Poured twice into one of my old Schlossbrau stemmed glasses. Mini-haze to the pale old gold coloured body, the head a thin and weak white wisp on each pour. The nose is yeasty and citrus like in aroma, as is the taste. Highly carbonated, it is almost ’fizzy’ in nature. Refreshing and thirst quenching: a summers day drink in a beer garden sort of beer. I actually liked it, just wrong beer in the wrong place in the wrong season.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
33cl bottle. Hazy pal yellow colour with a thin white head. Grain, yeast, grass and light citrus in the aroma. Average carbonation and light body. Taste is light bitter with some malty notes. Overall, drinkable but not remarkable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught@Bruch’s No 1, Saarbrücken. Hazy yellow colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is herbal, mild spelt and wheat like notes as well as some yeasty and earthy notes. Flavour is earthy, herbal grassy, grainy and a bit bready malts to it. Very refreshing on a hot day.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
A really nice Zwickel with a lot of yeast and a great head. Fresh taste, hints of citrus and grass, much better from tap than bottle. The best beer from Saarland, drinkable to the bitter end!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bruch Zwickel) Stubby bottle at home, from trade with vipinvelp, thanks! Served into an english pint glass, ABV 4.8%
Golden yellow colour on the body, huge thick white head, with great retention, helped by its size, leaving minimal lacing on the glass. Nice activity in the glass.
Aroma of barley, fresh grass, light yeast even, nice citrusy touches.
Nice taste, light grains but without becoming offensive, bread, hay, again some light citrus that fades as the beer warms up.
Medium thin body with good carbonation.
Quite good, certainly drinkable.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear yellow, large fluffy foam head. Barley aroma and taste, nothing special here, just another German beer. Just OK. (Velp 201411)
