This was my second favorite wheat beer I had on my trip to Germany, only behind Schneider. We happened to attend a fest in Heilsbronn where this beer was served by the local fire department as a fund raiser. My wife and I planned to try all the beers they offered, but we stuck with this one once we tasted it. This was our go to beer when we weren’t out doing the tourist thing, trying other beers from around the area. We drank it from the tap at the fest as well as at the brewery’s gasthaus when we went there for lunch and a quick look around. The bottles we drank at our host’s house were just as good.

pivnizub (8578) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - SEP 14, 2012
Bottle: Deep golden, hazy, big and very slowly collapsing white creamy head, moderate yeasty-wheaty and bready nose; medium-bodied and soft, moderate sweet-sourish flavour with a delicate bitterness; slightly sweet fruity and hoppy finish. Unusual, but very pleasant Weizen…

Thanks to quack-duck for that one. Bottle looks good, beer in the glass zippy, huge head. Starts fine yeasty-malty, not too dry. Fruity like lemon, some mild-sourish notes. Finish well balanced, quite drinkable. Good!

Bottle 50cl from Quack Duck thanks a lot. A cloudy golden orange beer with huge head. Nose is fruity on banana side with fresh bread notes. Aroma is malty, sweet, bread like, slightly toasted with grassy hops, noce one.

Bottle, many thanks to Quack-Duck. Hazy golden color with huge long lasting white head. Aroma of banana, wheat, earthy hints. Taste, wheat, malt, yeast and banana. Bittersweet finish. Easy drinkable beer.

bottle from Getränkeeck Petersaurach or Edeka Neuendettelsau. Cloudy pale golden yellow, large white head. Whetay and malty, hardly any banana flavour. A classic example of the style which is not overly banana-ey.
