COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Smells pretty malty, but has a nice amber color. I think that I womehow expected this to be more Belgian and less amber ale, but this is just up to snuff in either category.

Bottle. Clear brown color with moderate head that diminished quickly. Complex aroma of fruit and hops. Medium body. Full flavor with moderate bitter finish. Good well balnced Belgian.

Clear amber brown, small firm creamy head. Berries, rye, hay in the nose. Very malty, medium-bodied. Crisp carbonation. Long barley/rye aftertaste with some brown sugar notes.

The aroma has both hops and malt but adds a nice subtle nutty hint. The appearance is copper and clear with the head being small. Flavor is great. It is sweet and malty with just the right number of hops. The malt is lightly toasted in taste that carry through to the finish. There is also a sour element but it seems faint and therefor only adds to the complexity. The palate is thin but it does not hurt this since I think its more of a casual easy drinking beer. Its a very good beer and I wish I had another.

Bottle, part of the global beer network Belgian 6 pk. A nice amber with a decent head that reduced quickly but remained til the end. Mild aromas familliar to belgian styles, caramel and some fruity/banana like tones. Nice and smooth, a real drinker. If I was introducing someone to belgian beer and I knew they were shy towards stronger ales, I’d let them try this one first.

330ml bottle - Pours amber with a short white head. Sweet caramel aroma. Flavor is of sugar and caramel with a sour aftertaste that I found rather annoying. On the palate this is light and watery. This one was nothing more than average.

Bottle. Amber coloured with a slim white head. Sweet malty and caramel aroma. Quite a thin mouthfeel, with a malty, sugary, caramel taste and a light sour finish. Nothing special.

Beer #25 at Croydon Draught Belgian Beer Festival. Attractive bronze colour. Otherwise I couldn’t get too excited about this. Malty throughout. Reasonably dry. Nothing wrong with it, but a bit dull.

(Bottle 33 cl) Amber golden with a small off-white head. Malty nose, and some roasted malt throughout. No real sweetness though. Not really what you would expect from Van Steenberge, but then again of course they would also have a "Speciale" type in their impressive portfolio. Pleasant if not exactly thrilling. 260798

Ruby amber with a white head. Medium bodied. Mild fruity nutty aroma. Nutty sweet malts with a yeasty twist.
