COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

(bottle, from bierkoning - thanks!) Clear, amber colour with a short, but persistent off-white foamy head. Sweet toast-malty with aromatic notes of caramel and cacao. Moderately sweet flavour, medium body, smooth carbonation. Toast-malty taste with caramel, cacao, light notes of liquorice and subtle fruity notes, getting only a bit stronger towards the finish, turning out to be also slightly nutty, moderately sweet with a light bitterness. Okay, easy going.

Bottle. Clear brown color with moderate head that diminished quickly. Complex aroma of fruit and hops. Medium body. Full flavor with moderate bitter finish. Good well balnced Belgian.

A Mes rate: Great label. Great glass. Let down by the important bit. Full on yeast hit. Dry and slightly sour. Very lively in the mouth. A novelty toke but nothing more.

Beer #25 at Croydon Draught Belgian Beer Festival. Attractive bronze colour. Otherwise I couldn’t get too excited about this. Malty throughout. Reasonably dry. Nothing wrong with it, but a bit dull.

Poured amber in color with a huge, huge head (over 5 fingers). Yeasty, hay, and banana aromas. This doesn’t taste too good to me. Dry with a sour note. Not my cup of tea.

Amber colour, white head. toasty aroma, fairly chewy and sweet with a light dried apricot and pear aroma. Light plumminess and a sweet richness. Lingering earthiness and toasted malt.

Very hazy orange. Medium-white head, collapsing. Yeasty nose, fruity-estery, a sourish tinge as from wheat, coriander. Very neutral taste: again wheatimpression. Retronasal flavour as from celery, and ironoxide finish. Light to medium-bodied. Lively carbonation. Ok - but nothing exciting.

Deceitful orange seeds and coriander aromas hover almost seductively over the great show of sticky foam...Pomegranate seeds are dislodged when warming and disappear into an airy, dry ending...Hugely lacking in caramel malts, this fluffy, well-groomed, dead poodle of a Belgian ale is far from the quality of many of its peers...
