COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Clear amber iwth an off-white head. Aromas are sweet toffee malts with a mellow fruitiness and spices. Flavours are fruit and spicy with sweet malts. OK, but all too mellowed out for my liking.

Draught (Dickens, Riga) Dark orange, thin head. Sweet mild aroma. Creamy mellow sweet malty taste, some hops follow - but not many, a bit nutty and maybe soapy a touch. OK, but a bit soft - needs more guts.

Clear amber-brown beer. Mild carbonation. Pretty uninteresting beer with a simple malt start and just a very light touch of hop in the crisp dry finish. Perfectly drinkable but very very average.

a huge head, then a yummy root beer float. Some molasses in there? Second ferment in the bottle. An average beer from this world class brewery. Sweet taste followed on by tart and peppery spice and fruit, then long and dry aftertaste. Try just before meat dinner in lieu of wine.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with an average, fizzy-frothy cream colored head, average retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, biscuit, toast, caramel), light hops (woody), and average esters (apple/pear) with notes of dates. Flavor is heavy malt (cookie, biscuit, toast, caramel), light hops (woody), and average esters (apple/pear) with notes of dates. Medium body, carbonation, and creaminess, light warmth with a lightly sweet finish, but also somewhat dry.

Bottle from Super Saver. Deep golden pour with 1-finger white head. Aroma of bready malt, hopcitrus, some corn. The flavor was citrusy, lemongrassy, limey, with some bready malt, honey, and hop notes.

Amber hue, nice foamy 2cm head is very sticky and long-lasting. Weird airy yeasty aroma has a dominating fruity component (apricot, peach). Coriander touch. Weird palate contains tart citric properties hat reminds of a spritzy ginger ale. Simply overcarbonated big time which inputs a limit on the flavor lenght and development. Finish then appears dry and not so clean. Sad belgian ale.

Bottle that I picked up from somewhere? Consumed at Campsite in Guines, France 12-06-09. Pours light brown/amber with a white head. The aroma is musty. Fruity beer, quite light in taste and almost sessionable. This is quite tasty with a little bitterness showing, but is marked down a little for having a slight metallic edge to it, though I did find it tangy and decent overall. A6 A4 F6 P3 Ov12 3.1

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2009 2009-12-07. Crisp dark yellow body, modest off white head fades. Aroma is yeasty, lightly alcoholic, bready undertones. Light fruit. Flavour is similar, yeasty, light alcohol, bready fruit character, light oxidation? Light bitterness in the finish, mild fruity tang lingers. Average palate is fairly carbonated. Okay, bit old? 6/3/6/3/12 - 3.0 Bottle from the LCBO

November 2003. Poured from the bottle a slightly hazy amber. Interesting aroma is fruity with a hint of raisin and something familiar I can’t place, bit of spice as well. Flavour is mellow and subtle, malty with hints of sour apple. Nice mouthfeel. 7/3/7/3/14 - 3.4
