COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

This amber ale poured with a thin off-white head, eliciting a fruity aroma. The flavor is bready with a carbonate mouthfeel and an astringet fruity finish. The body is way too thin.

Coppery orange with a HUGE white head - really a nice looking beer. Clean, crisp malt aroma. Citrusy foamy woodsy and maybe a little mustytasting, Long, earthy finish, that is crisp and peppary.

Bottle. Pours golden amber with an off white head. Malty bready-ish aroma with light hoppy notes. The flavor has sweet and bready malts and a hint of hops. Not bad.

I got this in one of those mixed sixes of random Belgian beers. Definitely at the bottom compared to the others in the 6-pack of Belgians I got.

Appearance: Pours a clear, amber body with a smallish, white head. Fine curtains of lace on the way down. Smell: Pale malts adjacent to slice of crunchy French bread slathered in unsalted butter. Notes of sugar-coated fruits. Taste: Delicately-flavored, bready pale malts with just the faintest hint of grain. Sliver of butter. Mixture of tart, juicy Golden Delicious apples, pears, and sour lemons. Slightly herbal, slightly grassy hops with a mild bitterness. Sourish yeast character near the tail end. Finishes quite crisp with a final zip of fruitiness. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Nearly spritzy, moderate carbonation. Drinkability: Pleasant and easily drinkable, but leaves you looking for a bit more.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a copper color with a white head. Decent amount of lacing as it goes down. Nose brings some nice orange zest as well as caramel. The taste is mildly sweet with caramel and toffee. Some citrus and orange, though not quite as much as the nose. Feel is a bit light with good carbonation. Ever so slightly dry. Drinks pretty well and another good offering from Van Steenberge. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-20-2010

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2004 (330ml bottle) Pours a full foam head that doesnt dissipate greatly. An orange body with a sour citrus nose. Somewhat tinny taste. Under-achiever

Bottled. Hazy amber colour. Not much of aroma, except from a tiny sourness. The flavour brings a porous maltiness and is a little yeasty. Finishes with a milky palate feel.

The aroma has both hops and malt but adds a nice subtle nutty hint. The appearance is copper and clear with the head being small. Flavor is great. It is sweet and malty with just the right number of hops. The malt is lightly toasted in taste that carry through to the finish. There is also a sour element but it seems faint and therefor only adds to the complexity. The palate is thin but it does not hurt this since I think its more of a casual easy drinking beer. Its a very good beer and I wish I had another.
