COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

ertaling Amber coloured beer. Foam head with coarse structure. Smell of yeast and dough. Taste is sourdough bread, slightly sweet and a little bit spicy.

Beer looks and smells allright. Orangy, light amber color and a nice big head. The flavor on the other hand is not the one i expected from an amber ale at all. Tastes very sour and weird. Didn’t finish teh bottle.

Poured light amber with a frothy off white head. Aroma of soft malt, light Belgian yeast and sweet fruit. Medium body, moderately lively, flavour is light honey sweetness, light yeastyness and minimal bitterness in the end.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Gusher! Pours clear enough though, amber with a good sized-white head. Aromas of honey, malt, light sour note, yeast. Taste has all this, but it doesn’t gel well, and finishes quite thin. OK.

330 ml bottle from a Belgian sampler 6-pack. A towering head quickly filled my pint glass as I hastily poured beer from a bottle that overflowed upon opening. Several pours were needed to empty the bottle into my oversized glass. A - clear light amber with a huge sudsy head with medium retention. Leaves globs of foam on the sides of the glass. S - sweet & yeasty, with lightly toasted malts. Detectable hops. Hints of butter and bread dough. T - Sweet; more yeasty and less hoppy than aroma suggests. A light bitterness and a bit of sour in the finish. Has Belgian yeasty complexity, but is less hoppy [for BPA; not for an amber], or more yeasty, than I would like. Relatively poor finish. M - good, if rather high, carbonation; medium/light, near watery body; crisp, semi-dry feel. O - about average for style. (from June 2011 notes)
