COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Pour was pale gold with smallish fizzy head and some lacing. The aroma was sour and funky just like the rest of the beers in this mixed disaster Belgian 6-pack from Van Steenberg. 5 losers out of 6 all the same...weak, sour and overcarbonated. Different shades of the same lousy variety. This one had some graininess and bitterness under the cardboard, sweet rotten fruity malt and off sour taste. Bleh.

Golden brown in color with a thin head. Not the greatest-looking beer in the glass. Aromas just like dulce de leche. Lots of caramel on the nose and the palate. Slightly sweet throughout. Plenty of caramel on the finish. Creamy for an amber ale, with gentle carbonation and delicate mixtures of flavors. Not altogether bad, but definitely outside the box. Points for inventiveness -- it works.

Pours a crystal clear sunshine gold, with a medium pearly white head. Looks to be filtered to all hell. Smells of some crisp grain, mild candy sugar and cereal malts. The taste was really grainy tasting and a bit bitter. The flavor wasnt very crisp or sharp. Had a little sweetness to it in the finish, but that didnt really add much more enjoyment to it at all for me. Quite disappointing.

Bottle. I did not enjoy this at all. Pours an amber body with aroma of malt , pilsner hops, some spicy yeast (barely). Flavor is malty, slightly skunked with some rotting fruit. no thanks.

V - straw colored a bit cloudy with little noticeable head, gets to onr finger when agitated, but settled quickly. A - pale lager aroma of yeast and a bit of candied sugar T - alcohol and yeast/straw P - watery and thin and yet carbonated, reminds me a lot of an american pale lager.

Presentation: Poured from a 330ml/11.2oz bottle in to a tulip glass. It has a nice golden amber color with a slight haze. The head was crazy big, white in color and foamy with stiff peaks. It had a very long retention time and left cool lacing on the glass. The aroma is full and has notes of sour apples and pears with earthy/funky Belgian yeast and doughy malts. It has a sour funky favor with some fruity esters as well. The first sip has a puckering affect on the palate. Then there is a dry earthy yeast flavor with some doughy malts and light fruity esters that give it some nice complexity. The body is light to medium with a somewhat thin texture that is alive with carbonation. Overall I really enjoyed this ale. It had a nice refreshing character that would work very well with a light lunch, sea food, mild cheese or fruit.

Not much going on with this one. Pours a clear golden color with a nice white head that disappeared quick. Aroma is bread, light fruits, and banana. Nothing special about the taste, reminds me of a fruity yuengling lager. It has a slight fruit taste, with a very crisp bite at the finish. Decent brew, but wouldn’t go out of my way to get again.
