COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Almost a soft drink of a beer, it drinks so fast and light. Cloudy brownish color, with a huge meringue head. Bottle opened with a dramatic pop and foamed heavily on the pour, it was difficult to actually fill a glass. Head never did fully dissipate. Aroma started slightly phenolic, with a touch of brown sugar in the background. Flavor was more fruity, with a vague tropical note along with the brown sugar. Finish was pretty dry - the beer from the beginning was never sweet. Light body, heavy carbonation and fizzy on the palate. Very quaffable owing to the light palate and low alcohol.

Maybe a got a bad bottle. this is a tart beer with medium malty body. Their is not much to enjoy in this beer. As I said it could be an off bottle.

Bright amber color, light foamy head, hoppy nose gaving in his floral aspect, malty note follows through on a medium-bodied palate with small sour apples in a dry malty character and a bitter hop finish.

The first time I tried this, I wrote the following: Big, billowy, creamy white head, cloudy pale amber color. Aroma is fresh and slightly spicy, taste is blase. A fine, easily drinkable ale, but nothing to shout about. Is this the sort of thing that the revellers in Bruegel’s paintings were drinking (as represented on the label)? Did they have to drink a lot of it? 5.2%, with very little spark or flavor. On my second visit with this beer, my opinions didn’t change much. I discerned a fruitiness in the finish, found the palate to be smooth and refreshing, and complimented the balance. Moreover, I recognized the folly in my facetious remark, and realized the beer for what it is meant to be : a light "peasant" beer. Your party’s over pretty quick if your beer is something like Gulden Drak, and same for your aspirin supply! Of course, they drank a lot of it, they’re REVELLERS. At least they had better beer than you’d find at a contemporary American house party, where you’re likely to guzzle on a High Life, or sumpin’.

Quite bitter but still sweet. The aroma is like sirup and so is the flavour. It’s a special beer with complezity and very differnet tastes.

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2003 Aroma is lemony. Appearance is cloudy orange with a large head. Taste is sharp and sour. Flavor is citrusy lemons and grapefruit. *pucker* This is like Bavik except more sour. Its ok I guess.

11.2 oz bottle. The color is amber, with a white head. The aroma is sweet, with malt, and spice. The flavor is malts, with spice, and a slight floral flavor. It’s unfortunately forgettable.
