COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2006 Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours amber with a white head. Aroma of sweet malts, citrus, caramel and yeast. Flavor is sweet, smooth, caramel, with a bitter finish. this was a let down for me.

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2004 Great label. Hazy bright amber with a thin sudsy head. Aroma of butterscotch and caramel. Malty and tart with some apple flavor. Body is both wheaty and fizzy. Very average. I gave an extra overall point for the cool 16th century beer-themed painting by Pieter Bruegel the Elder on the bottle.

Bottle 33clnus. Dark amber to light brown in color, very small white head. Aroma: hops, malts. Taste bitter, honey ?; hops, little sweet. Not so bad.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2005 Has sweet caramel overtones and a crisp finish. Substantial mouthfeel for a lower alcohol ale. Not earth shattering, but nice.

Pours a nice amber color with moderate off white head. Has a light malty and yeasty aroma. Initial taste is slightly sweet and metallic. The body is thin and watery. Not interesting at all. Very boring.

nothing special, typical belgian ale, and not even good at that. typical yeastiness, some dried fruit, but not very good.

HUGE sudsy head lasts forever! Aroma of sour apples, sweet yeast. Tastes fizzy, carbonated, and dry. Not the greatest belgian ale I've tried, but still quite nice.

Clouded orangey amber hue, strong carbonation, good foam. Sweet malty, spicy aroma with vinegary cheesey notes. Overly carbonated on the palate and pretty thin. Starts out sweet with some fruitiness, finishes sour with a slight bite. Less carbonation and more body would make this decent.
