3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 potbeercollege (1322) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 21, 2010
Bottled- pours clear orange with a white head. Aroma of light citrus, sweet biscuit-dough malts, and yeast, while the flavor goes down smooth and refreshing with doughy and caramel notes. This beer is sweet; however, it is also a thin mouthful of a beer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 rmussman (1317) - California, USA - MAR 1, 2007
A nice beer. Have a very strong belgian aroma with lots of hops and malted barley. Appearance is nice and cloudy brown. Mouth feel is smooth and flavor is alright, a little bitter for a belgian ale."
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ROGUE (1315) - Newark, Delaware, USA - FEB 25, 2011
33cl bottle. Pours a cloudy orangey amber color with a thin white cap head. Smells of buttery candy, juicy fruit and a fermented malt. Taste has a thin toasted malt character, with a hint of buttery caramel and a mildly sweet fruity character of apricot in the back. Dry finish with a lingering metallic twang. Very basic, not that complex.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 dolemike1 (1288) - Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 3, 2003
Large, frothy head, amber color, nose of sweet fruit, taste is sweet and slightly tart, light bitter finish. Decent
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 pootzboy (1284) - Hawgville, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 2, 2004
330ml belgian stubbie bottle. This ale poured a reddish orange with a tight off white frothy cap that retains well. Fruity boquet in the nose...some slight sweet and sour effects. medium bodied...sweet without cloying and a distinct tart-peppery apricot tone to the taste mingles with doughy malts...finishes well going dry and a tad bitter...certainly one of the more drinkable belgian ales with a nice unique taste.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 OlJuntan64 (1266) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUL 11, 2002
Amber clear with large creamy white chunky head generating scattered lace blobs. Very faint but pleasant floral, light bitter hops, and some reminders of decaying Belgian roadside ditch water algae aroma. Sprightly bitter start but fades rather quickly to more of a faintly sour flat English draft ale than a Belgian anything.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Jblauvs (1264) - Dover, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 8, 2009
clear amber pour with a fluffy white head. aroma is yeasty with plum, nectarine, some light floral perfumey notes. Flavor is a little musty, some bready malts with some sweetness and a light grassy bitterness. Nothing special at all
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 fidelis83 (1261) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - MAY 8, 2010
Pours clear peachy amber with a 3-4 finger slightly chunky off white head that has good retention and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is caramel, butterscotch, Sugar Daddy sucker (do they even make those anymore?), toasted nuts, light tree fruit and light but rich cereal grain. Flavor is... strange... vegetal and herbal notes up front, butterscotch, nuts, dusty hay, eggs, maple and some fruity yeast notes. Palate is light to medium bodied with a creamy, kinda oily entry leading to a dry, almost astringent finish with a lightish, quite sharp carbonation. This is a very strange, not so good brew.
