Tap. Golden coloured, head should be a bit bigger, to cold served. Yeasty, watery, ok hopped, should’ve gotten a boost for sure. Mostly yeast.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 czar (1053) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 10, 2010
Closer than golden yellow than amber. Nose of malt, but also corn, cooked veggies. No head retention - It disappears right away. Taste is a-ok, but nothing more interesting to say about this one.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20 Taverner (1037) - San Ramon, California, USA - NOV 5, 2009
Something very vegetal in the aroma. That and must make up the rest of the nose. Pours a clear amber with tan head. Metallic and watery, with notes of sour spinach and broccoli. Flavor has a strange oily aftertaste too. Not drainpour, not something I’d buy again.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 lamas (1033) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 20, 2004
11.2 oz bottle. Pours a nice amber color with almost no head. Smells very woody and fruity. Heavily carbonated with TONS of flavors. Kinda reminds me of a Sweet Tart candy or Red Bull. Quite tart but doesn’t dry out the mouth. Very nice.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ChillCoat (1030) - Concord, California, USA - MAR 3, 2005
Bottled. Opaque, orange/ brown in color with a big, frothy tan head. Yeasty aroma with spicy notes and something that resembles coriander. Spicy and carbonated with generous malt sweetness. Not much in the way of hops.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 milewide (1021) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - FEB 18, 2011
Clear amber color with modest head. Carmel malt aroma and taste. After-taste was very minor hop bitterness, and a touch of alcohol.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jtw (1019) - farmington, Michigan, USA - JAN 24, 2009
11.2 oz bottle from a 6-pack belgian sampler. pours with little foam, and ends up a relatively clear and gold color; not particularly amber. pale malt and pale aroma, slightly metallic and perceptible grassy hops. taste is flat, not in terms of carbonation but in terms of complexity. malt presents, but overall it’s a vague and bland belgian ale.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 talon1117 (1011) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 15, 2011
Pours mostly clear and amber with a full, pillowy, white head which settles to a moderate foam and leaves some frothy Belgian lace. The nose is apple, light pear, some floral, dusty yeast, and honeyed rolls. The flavor is more apple dominant with fresh grains, light honey, and faint nutmeg notes. The palate is medium, watery, and lively. The beer finishes with plenty if honeyed grains, apple remaining, and a light to moderate floral bitterness. Subtle, simple, and surprisingly fresh for a Belgian beer. Not something to seek out but something i would certainly session if it were more available.
