COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Pours a very slightly cloudy gold with little head. Nose is like...apples and cheese. It’s been a while since I had such an odd nose. So weird. I get all sorts of weird descriptive terms off this one. Musty apple stew that has been sitting in the light for several hours. Flavor keeps that apple tone going, but it lacks a smooth balance or an interesting enough flavor profile to make it very interesting. I also get a caramel tone on the end. Feel is thin with minimal carbonation and the drinkability stays low due to uninspiring flavor and overall characteristics.

Pours a clear red-orange color body with a small head and minimal lacing. Aroma is very subtle. A little bit o’ cherry, a little nutty malt, a little yeast...noting impressive. The flavor is rather eh (weak). Pretty much, a little bit of the same mixed with water eith some sourness(not bad) in the finish.

Nothing special. One of the lesser Belgians that I have had. Why does it taste hot with a 5.2% ABV?

11.2 oz bottle Pours a crystal clear amber with an off white head. Good lacing but didn’t last long. Aroma is good. Malty with just enough sweetness to make it very tempting. I get a touch honey and pears. Taste is very smooth. A light body with great flavors. The alcohol is well hidden. This is a very tasty beer. Two thumbs up.

Clear golden with lots of visible bubbles, huge surging loose white head. Sweet fruit and caramel candy and dough aroma with spice. Has an odd funk similar to whey and melon. Rather hard to pinpoint. Slightly caramelly taste with more of that off, milky whey taste and artificial cantelope. Also more of the aforementioned spice and doughiness. Light, thin feel. Not the best part of the pack.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2007 Another vintage rate from London’s Belgian Beer Festival 2005. Cask. Clear amber in colour (with a specific hue noted: sunset orange) with small white head. Yeasty nose with notes of fruit, bread and carrot cake. Nice taste of raisins, bread and gin? Really, gin? I can’t quite make out what it says, but I think it’s gin. Nevermind. Slightly metallic, creamy finish. All in all fairly good.

Murky copper color with a large, frothy off-white head. The aroma and flavor were very subtle...apricot, sweet malt, clove, and citrusy hops. The feel was much like champagne...bubbly and soft. Nice session Belgian ale.

Coppery color with a light tan or off-white head. A bit malty at first with a nuttiness in the flavor as well. A hint of hops bitterness in the finish.
