COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Pours clear amber with a small white head. Aroma smells a bit like wet dog crap that has been pissed on. Not a good start. Taste is like sucking on an old wet leather shoe. Not a good ending.

I tried this beer on May 21, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent red colour with a ton of effervescence and a thin tan coloured head. The aroma was sweet malt, grain, and hops. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, and highly carbonated. The flavour was sweet malt with a bit of sourness and a bitter finish.

Pours with a big head, nice orange color and lots of bubbles. The bubbles make it hard to really taste at first. bit of spice in the nose and a thick swallow. A nice bit of clove and orange flavor to it. This is really nice!

Ok, let's start with this bottle... shot, squat and with a bulbous neck. The label has a weird scene on it. click on the pic of it above...go on, do it. ha, it's a tiny pic and you cen't see much. anyways, it's just a very odd scene. if i was trying to sell a beer i would have something interesting or cool on the bottle. i'm staring at the lable and i'm puzzled. anyways...i digress. this is Ratebeer, not Ratebottle. holy head, batman! this had a wicked frickin' huge head on it. an orangy bitterness pervades the taste and is good and refreshing at the same time.

Pours a clear copper with a medium white head which recedes quickly. Aroma is pretty dull, metallic, cardboardy, with a little hop way in the back. Flavor is again a roll of dimes, just the slightest hint of malt under the metal. Light, crisp mouthfeel, good carbonation. Drinkable, but not much more to get excited about above that. Overall, fair to good.

Hmm, I enjoyed this one. Pours with a large head, frothy white, nice bubbles. Hazy body. this beer has some bite to it.

Reviewed from notes (2007). A: Hazy brown with a thick creamy tan head that slides down the glass at a nice pace.. S: Light apple and banana scent with some mellow soft malts and some clove spice T: Similar in taste as the smell would suggest... some fruits combine with the mellow malts and a dash of yeast... some alcohol comes through M: Light bodied with decent carbonation and some alcohol on the tongue O: Enjoyable but not as complex as one would like... good for a few before getting bored

Smells nice, looks like an hazy amber wheat beer, and it's neither too bitter nor too sweet. That's where the non-suckiness ends. Over-carbonated and watery, and short on actual flavour. If you're into champagne (I'm not) you might like this sort of thing, but I like my Belgians with some balls.
