3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 SilkTork (4691) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - NOV 18, 2011
Part of the Nice Carrefour crate during the Nice-Cannes Marathon week. A moderately malty sweet bitter. Nuts and raisins and a lingering powdery bitterness. Pleasant enough and well conditioned as is the way with the Belgians, but not remarkable. A bit like T.E.A., but conditioned with lively yeast and candi sugar. In the UK this would be classed a Bitter, in the US an Amber Ale, in France a Bier de Garde, as it is made in Belgian it is classed as a Belgian Ale. I hope that makes sense to someone.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 bb (4577) - Alamo, California, USA - OCT 27, 2004
Bottle. Hazy orange-amber with a nice whitish head. Yeasty aroma with a touch of a lemon sweet/sour. Flavors of yeast, lemon, some richer fruit. Jut enough of a malt body. Good silky texture. More and more orange showing as you drink it. But still reminds me a bit of a lemondrop - not the drink- the candy.
