Pours amber with a minimal white head. Aroma of sweet malts, citrus, caramel and yeast. Flavor is sweet upfront, smooth, caramel notes, with a bitter finish, another good belgian brew, yet easily forgettable.

Bottle (330ml). Beer of Belgium Gift pack 1of6. Poured clear bubbly reddish-amber with a smallish fizzy off-white lasting head. Aroma of candy-apple roast malt, some sweet booze like Southern Comfort or apricot schnapps, some light vanilla spice and mild oak on warming - appealing but a little unbalanced. Taste is of fruit, sweet roast malt, a bit of slightly harsh grain. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky, has a lengthening bitter finish as it warms - not bad, better than I remembered.

it is light - but not too light. it has a real refreshing and spicy character about it. it is bitter and fruity, almost lemony. it is also a bit chalky. nice light pure white head on a light golden brew. it has a kind of vegetable touch that fades to the fruit and grains, i find that appealing. this is a good country brew. i was mildy surprised.

Very nice aroma of spices. Hint of honey in the taste. Thin head, amber colour. Smooth drinking. Not bad.

Reviewed 11/19/2009 (bottle):
Pours a clear golden yellow color body, huge off-white head, pretty lasting. Fruity aroma, some hay and farm-like notes. Floral and Belgiany too, but those notes need to be inhaled deeper. Some banana. Clean taste, some pilsner like taste, corn or vegetable, but not in a bad way. Refreshing. Light taste, thin palate. Not very complex. A little bite, but not very spicy. Kinda bland. Not as good as a Sierra Nevada or Bass.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with medium size off-white head. Aroma of malt anise and spices. Taste of caramel malt, yeast and nuts. Slight earthy flavor.
Not bad but nothing special about it. Easy to drink.

Crystal clear copper color. Foamy white head. Caramelly nose. Taste is mainly sticky caramel malt. Good balancing hops. Pretty basic amber ale. Not great, but good. Very drinkable. I’d buy it again or order it at a bar if it was possible. Can only get it around here if you buy the Belgian six-pack sampler.

Typical abbey ale -- moderate malts, restrained hops, faint spices and honey, thin body, rather dry. For a Belgian ale, I would have preferred more prominent spices. Pleasant conversation beer but not spectacular.
