3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 alafito (334) - tijuana, MEXICO - APR 4, 2008
Very mild, waterd down... Not what i was expecting from a Belgian Brewer. Some caramel and spices... a tad smoked. Not bad flavor, just not enough of it. Looks better than it tastes.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Derek881 (663) - Frederick, Maryland, USA - OCT 11, 2008
Poured from the bottle into a trappist glass. A pleasant aroma complete with floral and citrus hops, some caramel malt and a herbal effect too. Clear amber color with a very small, foamy white head with cling on the edges but short retention. A light sweet taste, with some floral effects, and a more sour finish. A wetter, slightly watery feel on the palate, with modest carbonation and somewhat lacking in smoothness. Certainly a solid beer, but nothing spectacular.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 wilderthanyou (587) - Guelph, CANADA - DEC 2, 2007
The beer pours a dark, slightly cloudy amber with a thin, beige head. The aroma of carboard, urine, and damp wood. The flavour thankfully doesn’t taste like the aroma, with a decent malty base, and some hop bitterness at the end. Really rather straight forward, expected something more complex. Not a bad beer, but certainly not a great one either.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Drink4Satan (666) - Frederick, Maryland, USA - APR 12, 2007
Pours an unimpressive clear copper with a thin diminishing head. Smells of caramel, almond, and granny smith apples. It’s got an average malty taste with a hint of hops.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Drake (4803) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - MAR 2, 2009
330 mL bottle from Greenwood Gourmet Grocery near Crozet, VA. Pours a reddish amber color, slightly hazy, with a surprisingly small head considering it was such an explosive gusher. Decent head retention and nice lacing. Odd aroma of toasted malts, caramel, raisins and a slight tart note. Taste is toasted malts, caramel, toffee and bitter hops. Full bodied. Strange one.

330ml bottle
5.2% ABV
I tried this beer on May 21, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent red colour with a ton of effervescence and a thin tan coloured head. The aroma was sweet malt, grain, and hops. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, and highly carbonated. The flavour was sweet malt with a bit of sourness and a bitter finish.

Golden orange, lumpy off white foam with sticky lacing. Aroma is yeasty, slightly sweet caramel. Taste is fruity, pears, yeasty, some toffee.

pours copper with a moderately sized head. aroma, like the flavor is overwhelmingly like sour apples like granny smith. a little unbalanced on the sour side with a low delayed alcohol burn. its ok, but due to the the flavors being out of whack, there are belgian ales id drink instead.
