COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

330 ml bottle. 2nd time tasting this, last time was badly infected and undrinkable. Golden orange colour with a huge fizzy and frothy tan head. Tangy and sour citrus and apple aroma. Tangy, sour, cherry, and citrus flavours with an acidic and lightly bitter finish. Light to medium bodied and dry mouthfeel. Better than last time, but nothing special.

Malt and yeast smells. Peach shade, good head, continuous carbonation. Malt sweetness, small tongue tingle. Smooth. Pleasant, average.

Bottle in Honolulu: Pours amber with a large rocky beige head. Streaming carbonation. Lightly sour aroma. Slightly metallic.Very carbonated. Light sourness in the flavor. Sure tastes "Belgian". Pretty good.

Another stumpy unattractive little bottle. I’m glad I am given this to try in a glass, because I wouldn’t want to be seen drinking out of this bottle. It looks like a beer bottle for babies or something. Weird. Anyhow...very large think head tastes more like a mix between an amber ale and a Belgian white - but not as good as a white. It’s like it is striving to be as good as a white - but it doesn’t quite make it. Slight fruitiness.

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2003 Aroma is lemony. Appearance is cloudy orange with a large head. Taste is sharp and sour. Flavor is citrusy lemons and grapefruit. *pucker* This is like Bavik except more sour. Its ok I guess.

Appearance is promising, nice head and colour. Aroma is okay, taste is quite simple, but okay.

Ruby amber with a white head. Medium bodied. Mild fruity nutty aroma. Nutty sweet malts with a yeasty twist.

Pours a slightly hazy amber with a monsterous frothy head. Interesting sour and apricot aroma. Medium body. Taste, again interesting. kind of like a lightly peppered apricot and a slice of bread. Certainly a different beer.
