To be fair, my expectations aren’t enormously high. I’m always amused to see the words ’premium quality’ on the labels of beers like this. Pale gold colour with a rocky white head. Smells tinny and metallic and of spent grain. Flavour leans toward tinniness and wrung out beach towel. Not a lot to endear me to this beer. Fortunately the finish is mercifully short. Will I be finishing this beer? I doubt it.

Bruer. Came out in 440ml cans, pack of 20, $19.95 in NZ. Now repackaged 330ml cans, 20 @ $21.00, was a great pack when 440ml. Now, well the marketing gurus have buggered it really. It isn’t a great tasting beer. Palatable if you’re a swiller, but now the average kiwi bloke will be looking for better deals. Shame, because the beer itself is very drinkable, a little lacking in palate, but a reasonable draught, probably comparable to Lions Tasman.
