2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the Eureka Belgian beer cafe. Pretty boring, but I had worse. Aromas of honey and hay. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and average length. Palate is oily, with a thin body. Yellow, with a non-persistent head.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Tap. Yellow gold with a fair white head. Very high bead. Grainy aroma. Bland sweet and corny with meek weedy hops. Soft mouthfeel is the best thing about it.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at Chatswood Hotel Brisbane. Solid amber gold in colour with a level foam head. A bit grainy in the aroma with not a lot happening. Mild flavour with some sweetness - this was served ice cold.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught at Brewery - on the tasting sheet notes it is called "Bruers Bright Natural Draught". Clear golden with big white head. Pleasant simple aroma of hops and malt. Light body, well carbonated. Lovely slightly sweet foretaste with hints of peardrops, rosewater and fruitiness. Nice crisp gentle long bitter finish. Overall a very drinkable, nicely balanced, clean beer.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Schooner on tap at the Commercial Hotel, Parramatta. Pours a standard clear lager gold, with a good head but poor lacing. The aroma is weak and watery, with some white bread detectable. The taste is similar. Stale, mild hops start it off, moving into a bready middle and a very rice-like finish. I suspect adjuncts. Another classic creation from Bluetongue, possibly Australia’s most pretentious brewery. Like their other products, this is marketed as a craft beer, different from the mainstream lagers in Australia. Sadly, like their other products, it is almost identical to mainstream Australian lagers. Poor form.
