4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Had this from the cask at the Falling Rock release. I just hope they change the name before they sell the bottles because they misspelled Citrouille Céleste. The beer is golden-brown in colour. It has some dark rye notes, roasty pumpkin seed character. Roasty, bitter, toasty and unique beverage. A really nice, unique beer. (Yes, I’ll probably get a bottle and write better notes, but this is a good beer people should seek out).

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Fred at Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Pours dark copper with a foamy light tan head. The aroma is really herb/veg, but it’s kind of a clean aroma. Comes out a bit citrus/anise. Med plus body. Flavor is sort of an herby pine over some nice, smooth heavily roasted malt. There’s an evergreen aspect. A little anise hint. Really pretty good.

Bottle. Poured clear orange copper color with an average off-white frothy head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Solid citrus, pumpkin and small wood aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium complex sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Complex soft beer.
