Smells like caramel, lemon, woody. Deep clear red in color. Tastes amazing. Medium body with rich malts, spices, slight bitterness. I was leery of it at first but, I LOVE THIS BEER! YUM.

Smells earthy/piney with other notes of citrus, lemon and bready malts. Appearance is a very heavy/dark shade of brown with a decent foam top. Tastes of an incredibly unique presence of doughy, bready malts and some slight yam flavor. The pumpkin is a little more noticable on the finish, I also sense some barley/leafy flavors along with spices and strong, roasted coffee. There are a ton of different flavors going on but, they all come together collectively to form an incredibly flavorfull and smooth brew. Overall, this is devastatingly incredible. I would strongly suggest this to people who havn’t had it. A+ rating all the way.

Purchased at Armanetti’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed on a Friday night in cool early November. Appearance a deep dark red / brown with a rich off white head. Aroma of pumpkin, herbs, toasted malt, yeast, wood, a bit of yams, really really complex aroma, lot going on. Taste is very lively, touch of sour, smooth but bitter, rounds out nicely towards the end. Everything really comes together nicely and you can taste many different ingredients, but all of the pieces come together in the end to make a truly unique flavor. I’m getting more of a lemon / pine flavor than I did in the nose, there really is a unique saltiness to it which I haven’t experienced in beer before. It’s full bodied but not heavy, medium to mild carbonation. I’m really enjoying this one, giving it a high rating, an experience to enjoy.

Dark red amber with fair, creamy, tan head / Complex, bright, floral, soapy, lemony, nose / Light body, acidic and lively, with long, dry, moderately bitter finish / Delicate, flavors of lemon, sweet potatoes, soap, grass, ginger, and chocolate / I wish it were still summer.

Bottle. Dark, midnight red with a 1/2-inch tight top of white foam. The aroma is decidedly herbal, with a hint of lemon rind. This drinks with an interesting blend of earthy flavors -- the pumpkin comes out like a green squash, and the combination of spice and fruit put together with it comes off beautifully, a thing of beauty. Even if it doesn’t float your boat, you gotta admit it’s original and artistically assembled! (#4408, 12/18/2011)

Wow, way better than I anticipated! I let it warm a bit out of the fridge. Poured with a nice sized, foamy, frothy, thick, tan head that soon settles to a thin cover and some lace. Color is a clear deep dark, brown red with lots of tiny bubble trails. Aroma is malt, roast, spice, toffee, caramel. Flavor is like nose but all those characteristics stand out more plus a perfect amount of carbonic tang. Body and carbonation are excellent. Finish is like flavor, of average duration, and leaving me with the desire for another sip. Very good drinking beer; maybe the best vegetable/spice beer I’ve ever had.

Clear dark copper with a thick creamy tan head. Earthy spicy aroma with the fenugreek and pumpkin showing through nicely with some citrus and woody notes. Nice slightly lively and bright palate. Roasted grain and pumpkin tastes are followed by spicy flavors and finishing with strong citrus notes. Pretty good.

what a list of ingredients! i wonder how different ratings (and for that matter, experiences) would be if tastings were "blind".

I'm a sucker for a pumpkin ale. This one isn't bad. Malty up front. Pumpkin notes at the end. Lingering spice. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Medium amber color. Sweet bread, pumpkin, cinnamon and clove aroma. Well balanced pumpkin bread, lemon, and citrus hops flavor. Very interesting combination. Flavors work very well together.
