2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
(on draught at the Bruery Provisions store). Pours a clear mahogany color with creamy off-white head. Aroma has fenugreek, pumpkin and other spices I can identify. Tate is sweet with some light spicy bitterness. Medium bodied with a dry finish. Meh. Not my favorite. Probably because I hate fenugreek.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. what the fuck. haven’t we learned from dfh that this shit does not work? This stuff is a little toned down from the usual dogfish bs but that doesn’t make it better. Dark amber color with a white sudsy off-white head. Nose is lemon, cinnamon, other spices. Flavor is a bit messy, hard to really pick out the flavors, just kinda blah. What a waste of a collab. Brew something drinkable.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle poured into snifter. I’m not sure what half the ingredients are in this beer but it doesn’t seem to work. I’m a big pumpkin fan but not even the faintest bit of pumpkin comes through. It’s more of a sweet/dry malt mess. Not impressed.

Just average. A bit of hops to it, a little spice. Nice color and head but just average overall...

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Slight foamy head, color of oatmeal. Body is dark brown. Odd spicy aroma. Mild flavors, probably from the yams. Sort of like a "dusky" pale ale. Ehh.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a fairly dark amber/brown color with a small off-white head. An intensely herbal aroma to this, which I would imagine is the fenugreek. There’s a bit of a lemon aroma to it, which is actually sort of nice. Not much else to it except for those two dominating smells, though. The flavor has a bit of roasted malt flavor, maybe a hint of coffee, to go along with all of the herbaceousness. There is still a little bit of lemon on the finish. Light to medium body with medium carbonation. Not really my favorite.

tap at pap 12/22/11
orangey brown with a slightly ow white - tan head head.
aroma and flavor are...confusing at best....citrus, spiciness, dust, cola, caramel, flowers and sweet...rather full bodied for the alcohol but that might be the most impressive part of this confounding mess.

Pours clear amber brown with off-white foam. Smells lightly sweet and bitter of brown sugar and tubers. Tastes bitter with hints of yam and brown sugar.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium to dark brown.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, caramel), with medicinal notes of clove, cardamom, menthol, orange peel, sage.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Well, it’s certainly overspiced. Not much "beer aroma" to it...it smells like chai tea or perhaps something you would apply to a sore to reduce inflammation. Not unpleasant exactly, but it’s strong and medicinal. The mouth experience is tart and overly bitter. It’s a novelty beer, after all...something you buy once, take a few sniffs and sips of, mutter "oh, that’s interesting", and then pour down the drain.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle from Bottle Barn. I smelled the lemon verbena and fenugreek. Straightforward support hops were present, but there was no malt backbone to support the pumpkin and yam, which I was really looking forward to. Unfortunately, Stone likely had a greater say in the making than The Bruery because they feature the hop and make thin beers. Eh...near drain pour.
