Superlative brewpub ale. Phenolic yeast aroma, malty. Typical of the finest Belgian beers - stronger than you think, with incredible drinkability. Reminiscent of Chimay Red or Maudite. Run and find this place.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a unnoted head size of foamy finely sized mostly lasting white colored bubbles that left behind an excellent lacing. The body contained soft carbonation, was hazy and light orange brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of malts hops and fruit . Its mouth feel is initially slightly tingly with a lingering very tingly palate . Its flavor contained soft crisp malty floral notes. A non-standard Pale Ale with a malt hop slight hop dominance yet smmoth and nice all around. Very quaffable.

Tap: Coppery hue with a long lasting creamy head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of grassy and aromatic hops, bready and crystal malting, a hint of apricot and apple, ginger, and earthy esters. The taste is malty and yeaty with a moderate spice and pepper undertone. Light bitterness towards the finish with a note of ginger snaps. The feel is lively and crisp, a bit dry on the finish. Another solid brew, very much quaffable.

Moderate amber/caramel colored body with a moderate, off-white head. Subtle malty aroma with very light, earthy hop character at the end. The body is smooth and creamy, but could use a little more heft to carry it through. The flavor shows more of the same: not bad, but nothing special either. Some creamy caramel and light estery yeast elements with some breadiness and light alcohol. Unfortunately, sort of boring. I think Brugge has some growing to do. They have potential for some really excellent beers, but I think the market isn’t quite ready for it yet in Indianapolis. As they both start to progress, we could see some really nice things. Right now, the food is strongest part.

Draft at Brugge Brasserie. Poured a small white head that mostly diminished, fine-small sized bubbles, lacing was sparse, no visible carbonation, and a dark yellow hue. Aroma was malty and hoppy. Sweet, malty and some hops in the flavor. Smooth mouthfeel. Light-medium body.
