Cornfield (4468), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Sep 17, 2008 Bottle from Pat’s Liquors in Porter, IN, without a "The" on it: This has the classic Wit look, a cloudy pale straw body with a tall, sustained head. Oddly, very little lacing. Plenty of carbonation. The aroma was grassy with some soft wheat malt and a lemony tartness. The lemon intensified in the flavor, perhaps a bit too much, because it began to negate other tastes as the ale warmed. The finish is a combo lemony tartness with a grassy/herbal bitterness. Not too bad. jcwattsrugger (4272), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Sep 1, 2008 on tap-pours a thin white head and cloudy yellow color. Aroma is clove, some banana, wheat. Taste is lemon, clove/pepper, some banana, wheat. A bit thin. Mild/minimum carbonation. BBB63 (3865), La Porte, Indiana, USA Feb 10, 2008 Tap at brewery: Hazy golden hue with a small lasting head and some lace. The aroma has notes of clove, coriander, orange zest, grassy and herbal esters, bready malt, acidic funk (but not brett) and a hint of wintergreen mint too. The taste is a tad sour and displays a fruity acidity (think JP Bam Biere) with a layer of bready and wheaty soft grains in support. Then the spice kicks in a almost overpowers the rest of the palate. The aftertaste is a tad iodine like. The mouth feel is lively and light-bodied but it still lacks the crisp refreshment of the best of the genre. Still not a bad attempt and I found it enjoyable enough. Tmoney99 (3819), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jun 10, 2008 Draft sample at Keg Fest under the name of White. Poured hazy amber color with a minimal fizzy white head that was mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate sweet citrus & yeast aroma. Medium body. Medium sweet & sour citrus flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Drinkable soft beer. thedm (3407), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Dec 27, 2005 This draft brew from the brewery poured a unnoted head size of foamy finely sized of unnoted length unnoted colored bubbles that left behind an excellent lacing. The body contained soft carbonation, was hazy and straw yellow in color. Its aroma was that of a soft wit with mild malt and mild fruity notes. Its mouth feel is initially tingly crisp with a lingering slightly tingly palate and a crisp aftertaste. Its flavor contained thin mild wit notes.
