Our blonde Belgian style Tripel exhibits notes of vanilla and perhaps pears.

Draft to taster at Brugge. Looks good for the style; a cloudy vibrant orange with white lacing. Smells solid; Belgian yeast, pear, and spices. Tastes like it smells with a bit of banana and vanilla. Nice and smooth on the palate. A nice example of the style.

GABF 2006: Hazy yellow color with an off-white head. Yeasty aroma with malt and cloves. Citrus notes as well. The flavor matches the aroma pretty close. Yeasty clove notes and a fair amount of sweetness.

Bottle [leftover 2006 GABF judging beer] poured a clear golden yellow with a large lasting creamy white head. Aromas of pineapple, citrus, light carmel and a hint of spice. Palate was light bodied crisp but slightly syrupy. Flavors of pineapple, vanilla, light carmel and spice with a smooth lingering fruity finish.

Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition, on tap. Very caramely with light touch of alcohol finishing it off. Indiana and tripels? A good adoption of the style. I had two.

Draft sample at Keg Fest. Poured hazy orange color with a minimal fizzy head that lasted with fair lacing. Complex spicy fruit and yeasty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium fruity sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a good beer.

Goblet at J Gumbos Indy - Aroma of sweet yeast, floral spice and coriander. Pours cloudy gold with a small head and good lacing. Flavor is bread dough and quite spicy, on the verge of too spicy as it can be a little rough in the finish, almost astringent. Palate is sticky and tart. It’s tasty, but could use a little something to soften it up and make me want to drink more.

Good sized white head of varying sized bubbles. Great carbonation keeps a thin hot spot of foam on the surface. Light fruity aroma, with some yeast and spices, oranges and a bit of flowers. Hazy orange in color. Wow, unique flavor. Lots of oranges, chewy sweet malts, light yeast and spices. Noticable alcohol presence but does not really detract from the flavor. Velvety soft in the mouth and very mellow. No bite to this brew at all which kind of means very little hops to me. Finishes soft and mellow with a little lingering orange and malt. An interesting brew that I am not sure should be a triple but then again, I am not sure what other category it should go into.
