Brugge Tripel is the unsurpassed city beer of the people of Bruges. This beer has a well-rounded malt character, an aromatic hop character and a great complexity of flavours. The taste truly evoques the very best of Bruges!

2009-04-19. Golden yellow body with a smallish white head. (3+) Aroma is lightly alcoholic, floral hops, pale malts. (7+) Flavour is likewise, pale malts. light alcohol and some hoppy bitterness. Average plus bodied palate. (3+) Decent, but average triple. Bottle, from Bier Tempel, Brugge a year ago.

Bottle. Wheat malt and flowers in aroma. Unclear yellow colour with white head. Soft, elegant mouth feel. Sweet wheat malt flavour with discrete hint of liquorice and caramel. Refreshing and elegant.

Bottle (in NZ). Pours a pleasant gold with a filmy white head. A mixed nose of soft yeasty banana and sharp citrus. The palate is all raw - raw grain and raw alcohol. As it warms in the mouth there is some herbal and fruity touches, but overall just too harsh.

bottle, amber golden, a little cloudy with medium head. Nice taste that stays in your mouth for some time, a bit too sweet.

Horizontal tasting Bruges (Brugge Tripel) vs. Ghent (Gentse Tripel). Bottled (thanks mom), BB 30-10-2006, sampled 05-01-2009 (about 5 years old). Small dying head, dark golden coloured. Aroma of orange, caramel and some spices. Sweet and alcoholic flavour, some malts, cloying. Finishes dry. Pretty awful tripel. Past its peak at this age, or just never really good? Ghent wins this one, hands down.

Poured golden with a full, creamy head. Nice lacing down trhe glass. Some citris spice and slight bitterness. Good beer, but a very average Belgian Triple.
