Hazy dark gold body with a nice, thick, and lasting white foamy head. Rich malty aroma with spicy and fruity notes. Taste reveals some yeastiness and subtle herbal hints. Finish is shorter and weaker than I was expecting. I don’t see anything especially wrong with that one.

Horizontal tasting Bruges (Brugge Tripel) vs. Ghent (Gentse Tripel). Bottled (thanks mom), BB 30-10-2006, sampled 05-01-2009 (about 5 years old). Small dying head, dark golden coloured. Aroma of orange, caramel and some spices. Sweet and alcoholic flavour, some malts, cloying. Finishes dry. Pretty awful tripel. Past its peak at this age, or just never really good? Ghent wins this one, hands down.

Poured golden with a full, creamy head. Nice lacing down trhe glass. Some citris spice and slight bitterness. Good beer, but a very average Belgian Triple.

Had this with Oldrtybastrd. This is a golden color in the glass with an aroma of fruit and malts. This is a good tripel, but not great when it comes to Belgium tripels.
