Brugge Tripel is the unsurpassed city beer of the people of Bruges. This beer has a well-rounded malt character, an aromatic hop character and a great complexity of flavours. The taste truly evoques the very best of Bruges!

Bottle 33cl. Sweet grainy nose, bread, grass, citrus, dough, banana, light bubblegum; slightly hazy golden color, nice frothy white head, reduces to thin layer that stays; medium sweet taste, yeasty, citrus zest; full body, creamy texture, lively carbonation; medium bittersweet finish, spicy notes; strong but but alcohol is well hidden, good example (no-nonsense) of the style

Pours dark golden with a pale foamy head that dissipates quickly. Not a lot of lacing. It smells of malt and herbs, hiding a sudden bitter Orange-y taste that is quite pleasing and lasts, with a spiced orange, dry aftertaste.

Clear golden beer. Medium not lasting white head. Yeast aroma, sulfuric. Flavour of yeast, fruits (apricot notes) and some metallic like flavours. Bad metal aftertaste, a bit sweet. Medium body and high carbo. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a deep orange body with a medium white head. Nose is cellar must, straw, red fruits, nuts and hints of port wine, caramel and potatoes. Taste is cellar must, red fruits, caramel, port wine and hints of stale bread and nuts. Medium body and carbonation. Best before 2008, so probably "a bit over the top". :-) Adding a bit of score to compensate, as it is probably a much better beer when un-aged.

Very disappointing. Bought this thinking it was Brugse Tripel which has a much fuller taste, this is just an uninspired brew. Looks good, between amber and gold with a firm head. A lot of carbonation, a bit of malt, some earth. Short finish

Bottle at Leonardo Hotel, Brugge. Sweet, glycerol, slightly cynical. These Tripels really are a bit like strong lagers, aren’t they? STILL GOOD NEWS FOR ME.

[9/21/15] Draught at Le Trappiste in Bruges. Clear golden. Aroma of fruity esters and some spiciness. Yeasty flavor, fruity, spicy. Medium-bodied.
