Bottle in Brugge. Deep golden-amber color with a nice off-white head that leaves some lacing. Light aroma, grassy, lemon, yeast and bready with some herbal hoppy character. Flavor of sweetbread, ripe peach, lots of pungent spices with noticible alcohol and a pepper finish. Smooth, medium body and assertive carbonation.

(Bottle, BB 02/09) Pours a clear golden orange body with a thick frothy off-white head. Aroma of mustiness, coriander, apricot, caramel, and clove. Flavor of spicy yeast, peach, coriander, caramel malt, and florals.

Pale golden pour with a thick fluffy white head. The nose is lightly spicy with a soft touch of lightly fruitiness on the back. A little bit of apricot – but this is quite subtle. There is a little bit of lightly metallic character that thankfully fades. A little bit of clove as well as some light Belgian pale malt. It’s a pretty decent – if decidedly typical tripel. A bit peppery.

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2010 Bottled. A slightly hazy golden coloured beer with a decent short-lived off-white head. The aroma has some spicy peppery hops and a little lemon funk. The taste is also on the funky hoppy side. If I tasted this bottle blind I’d have called saison; it really has some good hoppiness with a dose of funk. I remember this as the second beer I had on my first visit to Brugs Beertje back in 1993, I believe (the first was Cantillon Kriek). I loved it then and even now with the differing brewery I still think it’s excellent. Score 3.7

Straight forward tripel. Good taste not to bitter but lacks that special something.

Tasted 28/03/2005. 330ml bottle from Regional Wines and Spirits. Pours a deep, slightly hazy, golden amber with an amazingly pure white head. Very lacey. Nose is citric and spicey. Flavour almost whisky-like in its maltiness but for the yeastiness and lemon hop notes. Some soapiness in the palate the only real downfall.

Bottle. Hazy yellow with a creamy white head. Spicy and malty aroma. Coriander and citrus. Refreshing citric taste with some sweet malt, coriander and hops. Nice one.

Bottle. Very hazy deep orange amber with a huge lively orange-tinted head that shows fantastic retention. Aromas of vanilla yoghurt, spices, cherries. Sweet vanilla and toast flavours, spicy, cherry fruit. Peppery finish, mild bitterness. Creamy smooth mouthfeel, full-bodied. I’m generally not the biggest fan of tripels, but I really liked this one.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2008 Bottle/draft. First Belgian tripel I ever tried and it still has sentimental value. A balanced tripel that is worth trying to get your hands on. It just drinks so easily.
