Panzerfaust (383), Santiago, Chile Jun 6, 2006 Drunk on 06.06.06:
Pours a clear and sparkling orange/amber color with a big, white, frothy and stable head that lingers for a while and leaves a giant creamy lacing.
Fresh floral and fruity aroma with some aromatic hops and a fine blend of malt and yeast. There are notes of peaches, vanilla, banana and some tree flowers with everything covered with a honey layer. Very subtle caramelly traces start to appear with warming.
Flavor is sweet and very fruity with lots of esters and touches of fruit salad, palm syrup and tropical fruits. Rich and not so extremely complex.
Alcohol doesn’t overpower the pompous character of this drink. Texture is a little light with a watery resemblance but there is a nice sticky and sugary finish. Carbonation is almost unnoticeable. A really good full flavored and not over-the-top Tripel. Underrated.
jerohen (1508), Bussum, Netherlands Jan 5, 2009 Horizontal tasting Bruges (Brugge Tripel) vs. Ghent (Gentse Tripel). Bottled (thanks mom), BB 30-10-2006, sampled 05-01-2009 (about 5 years old). Small dying head, dark golden coloured. Aroma of orange, caramel and some spices. Sweet and alcoholic flavour, some malts, cloying. Finishes dry. Pretty awful tripel. Past its peak at this age, or just never really good? Ghent wins this one, hands down. bkurtz (240), Peru Jan 1, 2009 Poured golden with a full, creamy head. Nice lacing down trhe glass. Some citris spice and slight bitterness. Good beer, but a very average Belgian Triple. azlondon (542), Greater London, England Dec 23, 2008 Appearance: Golden orange brown. Good amount of white longlasting head.
Aroma: Quite yeasty. Good amount of fruit.
Taste: Nice fruit and malt. Warming. Good aftertaste.
Info: 330ml bottle, 23/12-2008 Yves (519), Beerse, Belgium Dec 21, 2008 Clear golden blond coloured beer ith medium white head and some nice carbonation. Full sparkling palate. Finish is herby and a little dry. SkyCop32 (286), Morlautern, Germany Dec 20, 2008 Had this with Oldrtybastrd. This is a golden color in the glass with an aroma of fruit and malts. This is a good tripel, but not great when it comes to Belgium tripels.
