haukur (671), Reykjavik, Iceland Jan 29, 2008 well, this is something new brewed for one month only. This is the least of Kaldi´s products, thinner taste than the rest, not hopped enough for my liking.Much more maltier than the other beers from this brewery, and that is perhaps the idea behind this beer, less hops, more malt. Still better then the beers from the other breweries here in Iceland
fiulijn (6110), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Mar 5, 2008 Bottle at Rover, Göteborg; great generosity of Pelle
Deep blond color; creamy head. It has an evident dry caramel character, like a Vienna, but this one doesn’t show the Saaz. Too ordinary. Kalli (430), Falun, Sweden Feb 21, 2008 Nice brown amber with decent head that fades leaving a bit of lacing. Grainy malts with some roastiness on the aroma. Balance of hops and malts favours the malts in the flavour. No or very little roastiness, sweet malts that remind (not surprisingly) of a Czech pils but are sweeter and a bit more caramel flavoured. Some grassy hops on the finish.
It might deserve a higher rating than I give it here but Viennas need to pull something special to get me properly excited.
