Heavy carbonation. Large pssht when I crack open the cap, and the beer booms into a big foam when it hits the glass. Head is slow to die and easily revived with a light swirl. There’s not a lot of flavor going on, but in the back there is a bit of toasted almost-hazlenut. This really isn’t a bad beer.

Bottle 33cl. @ DŘE Tasting, Fox & Hounds, Holstebro.
Clear medium to dark amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, sugar, light hoppy, cardboard notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and acrid - burnt caramel bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090825]

Pours brown, red under light, with a two finger off-white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is muted, some caramel, sweetness, bread. Sweet flavor, caramel malts, some dark fruit, light bitterness, bread. Semi-dry, refreshing finish. Definitely sweet, though. Medium carbonation. Didn’t know what to expect with this one and was pleasantly surprised.

Good dense and finebubbled, dirty-cream head over cola-coloured beer. Sweet dark malts, dark bread, maybe some molasses and manure. Sweet, dark malts, more dark bread. Bit soft drink finish, but aftertaste is bitterish, even hoppy. Rather spritzy MF, if not fizzy; light bodied. Very drinkeable, rather agreable dark lager. Beats anything I had so far from Iceland by lightyears.

Bottle. [thanks to the parents and my bigbro]
Pours deep red-brown with a fine, staying, frothy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, lots of toasted caramel, lightly roasted, some metallic notes (quite charcoal-like). Medium carbonation, a tad on the thin side. Flavour is rather sugary sweet. Light toasted, some roasted notes and a fair, grainy, earthy bitterness in the finish. Okay.

6 Mar 2009 Dark brown, good Icelandic. Thanks Siggi for driving me. Is it the Icelandic water making the distinct taste to all Icelandic beer?

Bottled (thanks to Thomas B for bringing this beauty home from Iceland!). Deep ambery brown colour with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, some hops with mild toffee, burnt wood and smoky notes. Also quite nutty notes towards the finish. Way more complex than I waited it to be. Well done!

Drank on a ferry when shared by Eugene. Poured a hazed amber color with an off-white head. Light notes of smoke and roasted malt. The flavor again had light notes of roasted malt. Thin and watery with a hint of smoke and a touch of raisin. Light body. Should have thrown it overboard.

33 cl bottle, alcohol store in Iceland.Ruby amber and clear beer, with a dense, creamy nutty head. Need to wait for worm in order to catch the aromas featrures, some malty and sweet notes and roasted hints. The flavor starts sweet and a roasted malty bitterness, with a dry finish and metallinc feelings. Medium body and good carbonation. The hopeless reseacrh of good beer in Iceland led me to the only one slightly characterized icelandic beer.
