Kalli (430), Falun, Sweden Mar 19, 2008 A bit fruity, caramely malts with hist of roast and perhaps chocolate. Some hops too, I’d guess.
Feels a bit blunt in the mouth, but nicely round if not full. The malts are mild, but full-ish, and the hops nearly overpower them. The finish is full and grassy which lifts this one up nicely.
I applaud Kaldi for this effort and it gets my highest score ever of an Icelandic beer. Nice, mild aroma of caramel and Saaz. Medium body strength; it has a dry caramel flavor, with some cereals, and the hop is a bit lost here. Pleasant.
