Pours clear red copper like with about a inch of head which dissipates rather fast. Light and vague aroma with hint of caramel. Taste is sweet with nutty and caramel tones, hint of spices. Slight bitterness which lasts into the finish. Palate is light bodied and slightly watery. Medium carbonation. Overall an okey beer

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2013 Bottle at Icelandic Fish and Chips in Reykjavik. Clear amber body with a small white head. Sour vegetables / DMS / concrete mix aroma with a ridiculously strong dose of copper pennies. This is an insanely dirty beer, full of oxidized cara malt, metal flakes, leafy greens, kale / chard / etc. Finishes eggy with fizzy carbonation and saccharine sweetness. Worst beer of the entire trip in Iceland. Apparently it’s made with Angelica (Hvönn), hence the S/H/V category, but to me it was more an un-spiced amber lager/polotmavy (given the brewer), just in bad shape.

From the Budvinn in Austraeti, Reykjavik. It’s a pretty straight Czech polotmavy type amber lager, isn’t it? Not sure I understand the herbal stuff. If there is any in it, remove it and give it a straight run would be my advice. Marked low for the inadequate reason that I have never got Czech polotmavy type amber lagers.
